Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Lawrenceburg Names 2023 Mercy Award Winner
June 19, 2023

STRHS Lawrenceburg recently announced that Mochelle Bailey has been recognized as the facility’s 2023 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
The Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
“At STRHS Lawrenceburg, we share Lifepoint’s commitment to making communities healthier, and we recognize this is supported by the good work and service of our employees on and off the job,” said Mike Howard, CEO of STRHS. “We are extremely proud to recognize Mochelle for her efforts on behalf of our patients and our community. She goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person she encounters receives the highest level of care and compassion. However, Mochelle’s biggest contribution to the hospital is the pleasant, outgoing, and joyful spirit that she has in everything she does. It is truly hard to have a bad day in Mochelle’s presence.”
Mochelle, CPCS Coordinator for STRHS Lawrenceburg, has been an employee of the hospital for over 40 years. Whether supporting in the hospital Angel Tree during Christmas or championing her team as co-captain for Relay for Life, her “servant heart” was a common theme throughout all of her nomination submissions. Her co-worker, Melanie Rosson stated, “She is a faithful employee who loves what she does and wants to make a difference in our hospital.” Mochelle serves on several hospital committees that benefit both the patient and employee experience. When not at work she continues her love of service to others in her church and with her family and friends.
Each facility winner, including Mochelle, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2023 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August.
