Healthy LawCo Expo Success

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System (STRHS) – Lawrenceburg is proud to announce a successful turnout for the 3rd Annual Healthy Law-Co Wellness Expo, held this past Friday, May 1st, at First Choice Health/Southern Tennessee Pediatrics. The event brought the community together for a full day of health education, interactive fitness challenges, and vital medical screenings.

The expo featured approximately 25 local health vendors who provided a wide range of educational resources and screenings to community members. A major highlight of the day was the completion of free sports physicals for student-athletes within the Lawrence County School System (LCSS), ensuring local students are cleared and ready for their upcoming athletic seasons.

Attendees also explored interactive stations, including:

• The Performance Zone: Where participants tested their athletic potential through vertical leap and 40-yard dash challenges.
• The Fueling Station: Which provided critical education on hydration and the "sugar shock" found in many common sports drinks.
• The Recovery Lounge: Offering insights into injury prevention, balance, and reaction time.

“We are thrilled with the incredible community response to this year’s Wellness Expo,” said Rhee Perry, CEO of STRHS – Lawrenceburg. “Seeing our neighbors take proactive steps toward their health—from seniors utilizing our low-cost blood screenings to student-athletes preparing for their next big game—is exactly why we host this event. Our goal is to provide the resources and education necessary to keep Lawrence County healthy and strong, and the success of this expo is a testament to that commitment”.

The event also provided various free health assessments, including blood pressure, stroke risk, eye pressure, and dental health checks, alongside affordable laboratory screenings.
