STRHS-Lawrenceburg Celebrates Continued Growth in Surgical Services

January 15, 2026

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Lawrenceburg (STRHS–Lawrenceburg) is proud to announce a significant increase in the total number of surgeries performed in 2025, reflecting continued growth in services and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care close to home.

In 2025, surgical services at our facility experienced another year of significant growth, with nearly a 20% increase in procedures completed compared to 2024. More than 1,000 of these procedures were orthopedic cases, with additional surgeries performed across general surgery, gynecology, and urology.

Key contributors to this growth include Dr. Paul Thomas, Orthopedic Surgeon; Dr. Paul Avenel, General Surgeon; and Dr. Jeffrey Greenberg, OB-GYN, along with the hospital’s skilled surgical teams and support staff. Together, they continue to expand access to essential surgical services for patients in Lawrence County and the surrounding region.

This growth reflects our dedication to meeting the needs of our community by providing excellent surgical care locally,” said Rhee Perry, Chief Executive Officer of STRHS–Lawrenceburg. “We are proud to work alongside outstanding physicians and teams who are committed to delivering safe, high-quality care so our neighbors can receive the services they need without leaving home.”

The increase in surgical volume underscores STRHS–Lawrenceburg’s ongoing investment in advanced technology, experienced providers, and patient-centered care. By strengthening access to specialty services, the hospital remains focused on improving health outcomes and enhancing convenience for the community it serves.
