Safety You Can Trust: Four Straight A’s for STRHS-Lawrenceburg
November 13, 2025
Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Lawrenceburg earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
“We’re grateful to be recognized again for patient safety,” said Rhee Perry, CEO of STRHS-Lawrenceburg. “Our goal has always been to make sure families here at home can trust the care they receive close to where they live. This honor reflects the dedication of our team to caring for our neighbors with safety and compassion every single day.”
“Earning an ‘A’ Grade means STRHS-Lawrenceburg made a true commitment to put patient safety first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
“I applaud the hospital leadership and workforce for their strong commitment to safety and transparency,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “An ‘A’ Safety Grade is a sign that hospitals are continuously evaluating their performance, so that they can best protect patients. Your hospital team should be extremely proud of their dedication and achievement.”
