iOur digital imaging department at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg offers a state of the art, high resolution CT, sometimes called a "CAT Scan". A computerized tomography (CT) combines a grouping of X-ray images that have been taken from various angles and then combines the many different images to create a high resolution cross-section of the skeleton, blood vessels, and soft tissue inside the body. These pictures are also known as "Slices". The more "Slices" the higher the quality of the image. CT scans provide more detailed information than just a regular X-ray.

A Low-Dose CT Scan could save your life!
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. The National Lung Screen Trial (NLST) revealed that smokers who had low-dose CT scans had a 20% lower risk of dying from lung cancer than those who received chest X-rays.
Multiply the number of packs smoked per day times the years you have smoked and that equals your packs per year history.
You are considered High Risk if you are:
Talk to your physician about the risks and benefits of screening. A low-dose CT scan may be recommended or YOU may request it. In order to be covered by Medicare, you must visit your physician and have an order.
