Making heart health a priority

Heart health is about more than just your heart. Blood pressure, cholesterol, family history and other factors all play important roles in keeping your heart strong. If you have questions about your heart health but aren’t quite sure where to begin, start with a heart health assessment and learn more about any risks you may have for heart-related conditions. Your journey to a stronger heart starts here.

The cardiology services we offer are as follows:

Cardiac Stress Testing

In Lawrenceburg, we offer multiple types of cardiac stress testing.  There is regular stress testing with a treadmill only.  This involves stimulating the patient, via a treadmill, to measure the heart’s ability to respond to stress in a controlled environment.  We also provide nuclear medicine stress imaging where your heart will be exercised either by walking on a treadmill or through the help of medication.  Along with the exercise the blood flow to the heart muscle is imaged with a Nuclear Medicine camera after a small amount of radiation is given.  Lastly we offer Ultrasound stress Echoes.  Much like the Nuclear Medicine stress tests, the heart is exercised by walking on a treadmill or through the help of medication.  The function of the heart is then imaged with an ultrasound machine.  No radiation is used at any point during this exam.

24-Hour Holter Set & Scan

A test that involves utilizing a portable ambulatory electrocardiography device to monitor the various electrical activity of the cardiovascular system continuously for at least 24 hours. The Holter device is used to monitor brain activity, cardiac arrhythmias, or epileptic events, which can be difficult to identify in a short period of time.

The electrocardiogram is a test that checks for cardiac problems in the electrical activity of the heart. EKGs chart the heart's activity as line tracings on paper. The spikes and dips in the tracings are used to determine if a cardiac problem exists.

Calcium Scoring Screening Exam

A CT scan of the heart to look at the Calcium build up in one's arteries.  The patient must not have any symptoms.  They do need an order from a doctor.  There is reduced pricing since this is generally not covered by insurance.
