Hospital Gains New Orthopedic Surgeon

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System officials announce the addition of orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Le Roy Gurganious to the medical staff. Dr. Gurganious is joining Southern Tennessee Orthopedic & Spine.
“It is such a pleasure to have someone of Dr. Gurganious’ expertise and background joining our orthopedic services team,” said STRHS Lawrenceburg CEO, Adam Martin. “We have always had a strong focus on sports medicine in our community but with Dr. Gurganious being Fellowship trained in sports medicine, we can take the care of our young athletes, our weekend warriors, and older athletes to a new level. This complimented with a wide range of orthopedic services and partnership with podiatrist, Dr. James Barksdale gives the community excellent, convenient orthopedic care.”
Dr. Gurganious received his medical degree from Boston University in Boston, MA and completed his orthopedic residency at Yale University in New Haven, CT. He completed a sports medicine Fellowship in Birmingham, AL where he was an associate team physician for Auburn University. He also obtained his Master of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, MA.
Dr. Gurganious specializes in sports medicine, ACL reconstruction, correction of meniscus pathology, correction of ligament and tendon injuries, trigger finger surgery, carpel tunnel release, total joint replacement, and treatment of fractures.
