But there is another important facet of our health that we should not ignore – our mental health. National Mental Health Month is observed each May to provide a platform for discussing mental health and raising awareness of the important role it plays in our lives.

Hospital Welcomes New Cardiologist

Dr. Kristofich graduated magna cum laude from Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York and received his medical degree from the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine and Dentistry in Piscataway, New Jersey. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania and a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Dr. Kristofich is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and is also Board Certified in CV Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Medical Association.

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Lawrenceburg Earns ACR Accreditation

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Lawrenceburg has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in mammography as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Mammography is a specific type of imaging test that uses a low-dose X-ray system to examine breasts. A mammography exam, called a mammogram, is used to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases in women.

STRHS Lawrenceburg has been recognized by the March of Dimes for its work to give babies a healthier start in life. STRHS Lawrenceburg earned the recognition after successfully reducing the number of elective inductions and cesarean deliveries performed before 39 completed weeks of pregnancy to less than one percent (1%). This is a tremendous accomplishment, and one that will give more babies the right start in life, the March of Dimes says.
